Now is NOT the time to panic, but it is the time to take precautions to keep yourselves and others safe during the COVID-19 pandemic.
At MedMassager, we are taking precautions as well. While, none of our roadshows are cancelled, we are using disinfectant at our booths and on our massagers before and after each use.
According to the Centers For Disease Control and Prevention, “For disinfection, diluted household bleach solutions, alcohol solutions with at least 70% alcohol, and most common EPA-registered household disinfectants should be effective.”
For those of you looking for a way to keep yourself safe when out and about, the CDC recommends washing hands is best. Washing hands in hot water with soap for 20 seconds or more kills most germs. When sinks are not readily available, hand sanitizer can be used, provided they have a concentration of at least 60 to 95 percent alcohol. After applying hand sanitizer, let your hands air dry. You may possibly recontaminate them if you use paper towels, napkins, or hand dryers.
If you are wondering about the effectiveness of gloves and face masks, health experts are saying that while masks may help prevent the spread of the virus from an infected person, they do little to help uninfected people from getting sick. The site says gloves may give people a false sense of security, which could even be “worse” than not wearing them at all.
Other ways you can prepare? Don’t panic. Purchase what is needed for the next couple of weeks if businesses are closing down and you are quarantined. There is no need to stock pile supplies when the elderly, disabled and immune-compromised people need the same— if not extra of the same supplies— and may be slower with getting out and about.
