How to Have a Safe and Healthy Memorial Day

Memorial Day can be a day filled with the beginning of summer fun, fatty foods and BBQ, dessert, fun in the sun, time at the pool, or beach, and alcohol.

Here are a few tips to help you have a safe and healthy Memorial Day:

1.) Don’t drink and drive. According to Mother’s Against Drunk Driving, 27 people will die today because someone else decided to drink under the influence. According to WebMD and AAA, buckle up to avoid a ticket and to ensure safety if an accident happens.

2.) Get plenty of rest: Studies show that drowsy driving can be as bad as drunk driving.

3.) Do a proper pre-road check. Check the tires and the fluids in your vehicle to help identify possible problems down the line.

4.) Lather yourself and your children in SPF to protect skin against harmful UVA/UVB rays

5.) According to WebMD, “for kids aged 4-8, that means positioning booster seats — something a lot of parents aren’t even aware exist.”
